A Halloween inspired sweet pizza – Toffee Apple! Caramelised apples with cinnamon, who needs teeth shattering apples on a stick?!
Autumnal dessert pizzas are the way forward! Diversify away from savoury toppings and go sweet. Inspired by Halloween, this toffee apple pizza will appeal to kids and adults alike – just ditch the booze for the youngsters!

Method
Cut the apples into segments and cook on a low heat in a saucepan with a little water until soft.
Using a thick bottom pan, caramelise the sugar on a low heat until brown, don’t overheat nor stir.
Add the butter and a glug of calvados or rum (we used Don Papa Rum that’s flavoured with vanilla). It will bubble ferociously and is VERY hot – be careful not to touch the caramel.
Stretch the pizza dough over plenty of semolina directly on a peel before adding the topping. The caramel may melt the base so wait until the sauce has cooled a little.
Cover the pizza with the caramel sauce and add the apples, sprinkle generously with cinnamon.
Bake in your pizza oven at 500 degrees C for around 90 seconds, turning frequently.

Stone Baked Pissaladiere with Smokey wood-fired Onions! Pissaladiere is one of my absolute favourites. It’s a sort of pizza/tart hybrid flavoured with sweet caramelised onions, black olives and anchovies - hailing from Liguria but most often associated with the south of France. A Pissaladiere is perfect as pre-dinner finger food with a glass of bubbles [...]
The perfect pizza is a tall order, not least because ‘the perfect pizza’ is pretty subjective. For some, the perfect pizza has pineapple on it; for others, ‘perfect’ is a few basil leaves carefully placed on a Campania buffalo mozzarella and a sauce of San Marzano tomatoes grown in the fertile volcanic soil of Mount Vesuvius, all baked in a woodfired pizza oven.
But regardless of the toppings, there are definitely utensils and tools that help you cook your perfect pizza.
Rob's Tomato Pizza! Top quality homegrown heritage tomatoes with a good homemade tomato sauce and pesto. Pizza perfection at its most humble. I love this combination with a small twist of sorrel pesto alongside the basil. Method Preheat your pizza oven to 375˚C and roll out your dough. Place onto a floured peel and [...]
The Cornish Four Cheese Pizza - a crowd-pleasing pizza with all the bases covered! A crowd-pleasing pizza with all the bases covered. Good balance of tang from goat’s cheese, velvety rich Cornish camembert and creamy mozzarella finished with pungent Cornish Blue cheese and aromatic basil.
