I love the layers of shawarma spice that warm this pizza and complement the wood-fired crust. Serve with freshly chopped mint or coriander on top or a generous spoon of labneh on the side. It also makes a great vegan pizza option without the mozzarella.
Method
Preheat your pizza oven to 375˚C and roll out your dough. Place onto a floured peel and start by spreading zhoug around the pizza base with the base of the spoon.
Toss your jackfruit in a small bowl with spices, oil and salt. Next arrange the shawarma jackfruit, sliced aubergine and mozzarella cheese over the pizza.
Bake your pizza in the pizza oven for 2-3 mins turning every 30 seconds or so for an even crust.
Serve simply with chopped herbs and minted labneh.

Ideally, when you’re cooking a pizza, you want heat enough to crisp the crust but not to destroy your toppings. Essentially, whether you have a special pizza oven or are just [...]

Each sourdough starter has a personality of its own, a flavour and characteristic unlike any other. You can buy a sourdough starter online, but [...]
Ploughman's Pizza! If I’m honest I wasn’t sure how this pizza would turn out, but I must confess I loved it. What’s not to like? Stone baked pizza dough, wood-fired grilled cheddar, pickled onions, sliced west country ham and a hidden layer of homemade piccalilli. Perfect to enjoy in the garden this autumn. Serve with [...]
